GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT AT SCHOOL

CODE OF CONDUCT

• The learner may not be absent from school unless he/she is sick.
• A child who is absent due to illness must produce a valid medical certificate.
• For other reasons the parent must obtain permission from the Principal to keep the child out of school.

HOMEWORK

• Parents should supervise their children and make sure that the homework is completed in time. This does not mean that parents should do the homework for their children.
• A child who fails to do their homework will be detained for a week from 14h00 to 16h00 and parents will be responsible for fetching their child from school.

LEARNERS PROGRESS

• It is every parent’s duty to monitor the child’s progress. This will help the child to revise his/her homework at home.
• Parents must sign all class work, projects and textbooks of the learner to help the teachers and ensure that the work is done on time and is of quality.

SCHOOL BOOKS

• It is the duty of the parent to help the child to cover all schoolbooks.
• All books must be kept clean.
• If a textbook or a library book is lost, the parent must pay for it.
• If the learner damaged the book beyond repair, the parent will be requested to replace the book.
• Forms for textbook loans are issued to the learners.
• Parents are asked to sign the forms and to ensure that all books are kept in neat and clean.
• Forms must be returned to the school after signing.
